About the Artist
For the last thirteen years in Darwin, Christiaan Snoek has worked as a fine artist producing oil and acrylic paintings, ‘T’ shirt designs, murals and has also run his own studio and gallery (Mob Presentations) producing prints of his paintings plus private art teaching. (Click here to view the Galleries of Christiaan Snoeks work) Christiaan Snoek has also created graphic design for various clients ranging from ‘T’ shirt designs, logo design, corporate image design, murals, brochure and pamphlet design, menu layouts and more. Before this he ran Centre Media Presentations pty. Ltd. in Alice Springs for seven years, which
incorporated a design studio and television production company. Centre Media produced camera
ready art for printing in newspapers and magazines, advertising and promotional materials for
various companies both local and nationally based, and also produced promotional videos for Capricorn Helicopters Christiaan also spent three years in Canberra at the Australian National University working with
Professor George Adrian Horridge, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences producing
illustrations and photography for various papers coming from his department. In particular two
books and four monographs on the design and construction of South East Asian boats printed by Christiaan has also held positions as Art director for The Alice Springs Trader newspaper, Art director for Centre Sun Graphics, as a teacher at the Alice Springs Community College and at the Alice Springs Tafe College delivering classes in graphics, photography, ceramics, sculpture, air brushing and gold and silver smithing. Christiaan also worked with sculptor William Ricketts and Col Gordon of Dysons Studios producing sculptures and ceramics respectively. He has also painted velvet oil paintings and poker worked wooden platters for the souvenir trade and produced illustrations and photographs for a local newspaper in Belgrave.
